About Shuri Agri Eswatini

Building the Eswatini trade corridor

A joint venture between Shuri AgriTrade and Colette H Holdings, designed to formalise agricultural trade between Eswatini's smallholder producers and South Africa's most demanding fresh produce buyers.

What we set out to solve

Eswatini is a sovereign SACU member with an active agricultural sector. Without formalised route-to-market infrastructure, however, Eswatini smallholders have been largely excluded from the premium South African fresh produce channels that their growing volumes and proximity should put within reach.

Shuri Agri Eswatini addresses that gap. By combining Shuri AgriTrade's market position at MIF with Colette H Holdings' on-the-ground Eswatini relationships, we provide the full trade stack: aggregation, phytosanitary compliance, cold chain logistics, and market representation at MIF.

“Eswatini was the obvious first market: SACU membership, an English business environment, and a border crossing 40 km from MIF. We chose it before Mozambique because the structural case was too strong to pass.”

01

Grower first

Every decision in our supply chain begins with what is fair and sustainable for the Eswatini smallholder. Farmer income is not a downstream consideration; it underpins the entire model.

02

Compliance opens markets

Phytosanitary and regulatory compliance is what unlocks access to South Africa's premium buyers. We build it in from the start rather than treating it as an afterthought.

03

The SACU advantage is real

Eswatini's SACU membership means zero customs duties into South Africa, written into treaty. We are here to make sure Eswatini producers fully realise that structural edge rather than leaving it on the table.

04

Long-term shared value

Shuri Agri Eswatini is designed for sustainable shared value with Eswatini communities, not short-term arbitrage. The corridor only works if producers benefit consistently.

Our Journey

Milestones

2023

Inception

Shuri AgriTrade and Colette H Holdings identify Eswatini as the first cross-border market, ahead of Mozambique, based on SACU membership, Matsamo proximity to MIF, and an English-language business environment.

2024

Eswatini Operations

On-the-ground relationships with smallholder cooperatives are established across the Lowveld and Middleveld. The phytosanitary compliance framework is mapped against PPRI requirements on both sides of Matsamo.

2025

MIF Integration

First Eswatini consignments clear Matsamo and arrive at MIF with cold chain and MRL testing records. The full operational pipeline, from farm collection in Eswatini to buyer delivery at MIF, is confirmed.

2026

Scale

Producer base expands across Eswatini's growing regions. Additional produce categories and value-added lines are introduced as buyer demand at MIF widens.

The Partnership
